SINGAPORE — Chinese language authorities say they’ve banned Meta’s acquisition of Manus AI, a synthetic intelligence firm based in China — taking Beijing’s most aggressive step but to stanch the lack of AI expertise and sources to the US and possibly setting off an advanced authorized and political battle.
