The Israeli army suspended a battalion of reservist troopers on Monday, days after it detained a CNN crew within the West Financial institution village of Tayasir.
Jeremy Diamond, CNN’s Jerusalem correspondent, and his workforce have been in Tayasir on Thursday reporting on assaults by Israeli settlers on Palestinians when troopers from the Israel Protection Forces’ Netzah Yehuda unit intervened. One of many troopers positioned Cyril Theophilos, a CNN photojournalist, in a chokehold, introduced him to the bottom and broken his digicam, the community reported. The crew members have been detained for about two hours.
